ANZAC Letter

Gallipoli
The  Trenches
25 April 1915

Dear Mum, Dad, Lola and Mabel,

I think you'll be happy to know that I'm alive and I miss you so much.

It's sad to see my friends get gruesomely shot in the head or heart. It's a really grim place here. I'd rather be at home.

I can hear titanium bullets being spat into the thick, squelchy mud. The enormous explosions create minor earthquakes. The
ear-splitting gunshots put my courageous friends into the rat infested hospital.

I'm in absolute despair. I really don't think I'm going to make it home.

Tell Lola I miss her, tell Mabel I love her.

Yours sincerely Max
